Driving Points: Protect Your License
Have you accumulated driving points? Our office handles point challenges, representation before the Licensing Authority and efforts to prevent lengthy license suspensions.
How does the driving-points system work?
12-22 points
Accumulation of 12 points or more requires the driver to perform a basic "correct driving course" (preventive driving) and pass a test at the end of it.
24-34 points
Repeated accrual or reaching this threshold requires a designated (advanced) correct driving course and passing a test. Points are only deleted after 2 years with no further violations.
36 + points
Reaching this critical threshold results in an automatic license suspension of at least three months and requires retaking the theory test.

How can driving points be challenged?
-
Reviewing the traffic ticket
Identifying technical and substantive defects in the way the officer issued and documented the ticket.
-
Converting a ticket to a warning
Reviewing eligibility to convert the ticket to a warning with no fine and no points.
-
Change offense section
Negotiating with the prosecution to convert the offense clause to a clause that does not bear any points.
-
Representation on appeal committees
Professional representation before the Licensing Authority in applications to stay or cancel administrative license suspensions.
Received a ticket carrying points? Do not pay immediately!
